They fasten with velcro and each has a tiny bell attached for use as an anti theft device.
I love making and have a Bdes degree in Design. Here are the products of my evenings. I need to occupy my hands so sewing helps me to wind down after a days work. I find it therapeutic. I'm into all sorts of handmade crafts but I especially love recycled objects made into art. I'm always making something and usually more than one thing at a time as my mind becomes bored always working on the same thing so I jump from project to project.

Coin purse/ phone pockets
I have once again been busy making purses. These are simple coin purses but they are just as easy to use as a mini make up bag for in your handbag or as phone pockets. I have used new and recycled fabrics some of which are vintage!!!

Patchwork wallet..
This week I made a wallet for a friend. She had a purse but it was old and she fancied a new one. The ols purse had a coin, note and credit card section and she wanted the new purse to be the same.
I wasn't sure I could manage it technically but hey no harm in trying.
Here is the finished result. Fortunately for me my friend loved it and it is now in her possession. :)

The front
The back
The whole of the inside with credit card slots

Another mushroom
I have been busy making mushrooms again. This one is giant at about 40 inches tall with a cap of about 30 inches The materials used are recycled fabrics and old clothes.

The decorations are buttons and jewellery from my own 'collection'. Here you can see details of the cap with bed and sequin work.

Tin Dog mark 1
I have been thinking of making some tin 'creatures' for a while and I have just this week made my first tin dog using tins from the secondhand store and some metal odds and ends I had in my 'collection'

I used a 'Jodekoek' tin for the bodu and an old tea tin for the head. His tail is a candle snuffer and his ears and legs are offcuts from coffee machines ( I used to work in the coffee machine factory)
I have quite a few more tins all in nice shapes or with nice Dutch writing or pictures on them and so I am intending to makes a few friends for the dog.

Guerilla patchwork
.jpg)
Recently there have been a lot of stories about guerilla knitting. I love these impromptu works of art but my knitting skills are somewhat limited and so i have decided to adapt the idea to my own ends.

I have been coppicing trees in our garden and regularly save the young tree trunks never quite knowing what for but they are so nice it's a shame to cut them up and burn them. I also have a lot of fabric offcuts and was looking for another use for them too.
I am happy with the effects and the pieces are just tacked with glue into place but i intend to oversew them now with embroidery threads for the proper patchwork effect.
I am now looking for a suitably gnarled trunk with a few branches intact which is room height so I can wedge it into place in the livingroom from floor to ceiling.
