Double Dutch stories
I love making and have a Bdes degree in Design. Here are the products of my evenings. I need to occupy my hands so sewing helps me to wind down after a days work. I find it therapeutic. I'm into all sorts of handmade crafts but I especially love recycled objects made into art. I'm always making something and usually more than one thing at a time as my mind becomes bored always working on the same thing so I jump from project to project.

A Colourful headboard for our bed
I got some packing pallets and stripped the planks off. Next I glued some printed tissue papers (which are very cheap) onto the planks using PVA or school glue.
I tried to make them nice and bright but at the same time keeping them shabby looking.
I also used hand made papers and gift wrapping paper too. Fabric was another thing I used for covering some of the planks.
Next A light frame was screwed to the wall so I could use it to screw the planks into position
It is now complete :)
This idea has been inside my head for quite some time so I am glad it is finally done and I can move on to the next thing.

Decoupage Frames.....
I was given these round white pressed wood frames.............they were ugly! I had them for over a year before having a Eureka moment and deciding to cover them in odd bits of fabrics that I have over fromo other projects and also paper scraps and buttons etc..........
They are approx 85cm (33.5 ") with an opening in th middle of 70 cm (27.5")
I had two of them so played around a bit until deciding to place a mirro into one and a felt mosaic into the other. It was a lot of fun.
Using basic white school glue (PVA) and voila thats it.

Owls
Here are a couple of owls I made using things I had hanging around my hobby room. Metal off cuts from a factory I once worked in, kitchen utensils and even a heart shaped tin.

Mosaiced Bird Bath
I made this bird bath using a small cheap cupboard and an old sink. The sink I have mosaiced using lots of beads I'd had for over 5 years.

Pole Painting
I have decided to use some of the branches I cut off the trees in our garden as artwork for my fence.
These are some of my works in progress. I make the base colourful and then I start to add finer details such as spots, spirals and circles.
I just let myself paint freehand and made it up as I went along. I have noy yet finished but it is VERY therapeutic and I have really enjoyed myself so far.
